A 2020 Gibson Custom Murphy Lab Aged AFD Les Paul, serial #SLASH AFD 2020 #3, in heavy-aged sunburst finish. Owned and played by Jason Momoa, the film and television star who has appeared in projects such as Game of Thrones, Stargate Atlantis, Aquaman, Fast X, and Dune. Jason is also an avid player and collector of guitars and has amassed an impressive collection.

This guitar can be seen in Jason and Slash’s hands in On The Roam's first season episode “The Instruments of Legends” wherein Jason and Slash plan to auction off the guitar for MusiCares, a charity which seeks to provide access to health and welfare services as well as support for living expenses to the music community.

Made in 2020, the Gibson Custom “AFD” is a replica… of a replica! The iconic Gibson Les Paul that Slash used at the tail end of the Appetite for Destruction tour was actually a replica built by luthier Kris Derrig, Despite being a replica, it had a Gibson logo and the company enjoyed the success of the association for decades until the decision was made to produce official replica-replicas straight from Gibson Custom. This 2020 edition of Slash’s favorite recreates the road-worn look and feel of the original with Murphy Lab’s proprietary aging techniques.

The AFD Les Paul features a 24 3/4” scale length mahogany neck with a 12” radius, 22 frets, trapezoid inlays, and a worn cherry finish. Six single-line/single ring tuning keys and a bound rosewood fretboard. The body is finished in a heavily worn honey-toned sunburst finish on a stunning flamed maple top which dances in the light. The mahogany back is finished in an aged cherry. Both the top and back are heavily weather checked and aged, with areas of missing finish, dings, nicks, and scratches which give the illusion of playing a road-worn touring guitar. Aged no-wire Tune-O-Matic bridge and stop tailpiece, two zebra coil humbucker pickups, creme pickup surrounds, poker chip, and switch tip, and gold bell knobs. Three-way toggle switch, two volumes, and two tones.

Includes an aged Gibson Custom case with a brown exterior and pink interior and an amber switch tip in the storage compartment.
