A Gibson Custom Murphy Lab Aged Pearly Gates Les Paul, serial #9 1361, in an aged sunburst finish. Owned and played by Jason Momoa, the film and television star who has appeared in projects such as Game of Thrones, Stargate Atlantis, Aquaman, Fast X, and Dune. Jason is also an avid player and collector of guitars and has amassed an impressive collection.

This guitar can be seen in On The Roam’s first season episode “Musician and the Craftsmen” wherein Jason, Gibbons, and Gibson CEO Caesar Gueikian plan to auction off the guitar for Gibson Gives, a charity which donates guitars and instruments to school, community programs, and music therapy initiatives. Gibson Gives also works to provide support for all communities and is LGBTQ-inclusive in its partnerships. So far Gibson Gives has raised more than $4.5 million dollars and enabled $46 million in funding for key organizations.

This Gibson Custom Murphy Lab Ultra Heavy Aged Les Paul is a replica of ZZ Top frontman Billy Gibbons’ famous 1959 model known to the world as “Pearly Gates.” Gibbons purchased the guitar from a rancher outside of Houston, Texas in 1968 and the guitar has been a featured performer on every ZZ Top record ever since.

This Gibson Pearly Gates Les Paul is signed by Gibbons on the back of the headstock “Billy G 2022.” The Ultra Heavy Aged finish package recreates the road-worn look and feel of the original with Murphy Lab’s proprietary aging techniques.

The Pearly Gates Les Paul features a 24 3/4” scale length mahogany neck with a 12” radius, 22 frets, trapezoid inlays, and a heavily worn cherry finish. Six single-line/single ring tuning keys and a bound rosewood fretboard. The body is finished in a heavily worn sunburst finish on a deeply flamed maple top which shows off its silky chatoyant luster when moved under even less than ideal lighting. The mahogany back is finished in an aged cherry. Both the top and back are heavily weather checked and aged, with areas of missing finish, dings, nicks, and scratches which give the illusion of playing that famed, road-worn touring guitar. Aged no-wire Tune-O-Matic bridge and stop tailpiece (currently top-wrapped), two nickel-covered humbucking pickups, creme pickup surrounds, poker chip, and switch tip, and gold bell knobs. Three-way toggle switch, two volumes, and two tones.

Includes an aged Gibson Custom case with a brown exterior and pink interior, as well as a Gibson COA, warranty card, hang tags, case keys, and an amber switch tip in the storage compartment.
