A very rare 19th century carved wooden medicine mortar with dramatic Sigha Lion head on the side and tail on the other side that act as handles, with signs of field use over generations. A rare find. Batak peoples, Sumatra, Indonesia. The wooden vessel measures 13.5 x 8 inches.
