PROVENANCE: Prince and Princess Alexander Romanoff; Princess Maria Romanoff. Commissioned from the Imperial Porcelain factory in the 1870s for Grand Duke Nikolai Mikhailovich (1859-1919), the service was later expanded with many pieces by the Kornilov factory, which have come to market.
