Description
Imperial Porcelain Manufactory, St. Petersburg, period of Alexander II and the State Porcelain Manufactory, Petrograd, by Varvara Rukavishnikova, dated 1922

Circular, the center painted and gilt-decorated in reserve with a figure wearing a jester's hat and a robe, one hand holding a scepter, the other raised in a blessing, in front of cityscape with churches, flanked by two attendants, within a border painted with varicolored stylized flowers and foliage, marked under base with green underglaze Imperial Porcelain Manufactory mark, blue overglaze hammer, sickle and cog, with artist's monogram and inscribed N 351/5 and dated 1922. Diameter 10 5/8 inches (27 cm).
