Description
A 2011 Dean Bret Michaels Signature Z solid body electric guitar, serial #US11010137, in pearl white finish. Owned and stage-played by Bret Michaels, frontman of the popular rock band Poison, who have sold more than 65 million records worldwide and are famous for hits like “Every Rose Has Its Thorns,” “Talk Dirty To Me,” “Unskinny Bop,” and “Something To Believe In.”
Michaels played this guitar onstage at the Hampton Casino on 9/29/2012. After the show, his guitar tech announced that Bret was hoping for donations to his Diabetes Charity Fund and would give his stage-used guitar to whoever donated the highest amount. Our consignor, a fan of Poison, made a sizable donation, and in appreciation Bret invited him onto the tour bus, signed the guitar, and posed for a photo. He also dated the guitar on the bass side of the headstock, which reads “9-29-2012.”
The Bret Michaels Signature Dean Z guitar features a 24.75” scale length mahogany neck with split headstock and black Grover tuners. A 22 fret rosewood fretboard with dot inlays as well as a cross inlay at the 12th fret. A bound mahogany Z body with two DMT Time Capsule pickups, a black Tune-O-Matic bridge, and black string-through-body ferrules. Pickups are controlled by a single volume knob and a taped-off tone knob and three-way switch; the neck pickup is also taped, as used by Michaels on stage.
