Size: Image: 17.5 H x 18.5 W; Framed and Glazed: 24" H x 25" W | Francesco Bartolozzi RA (Florence, 21 September 1727 – 7 March 1815, Lisbon) was an Italian painter and engraver, whose most productive period was spent in London. He is noted for popularizing the "crayon" method of engraving | The printmakers — Vivares and Bartolozzi — were both expatriates living in London. Vivares (1708-1780) was French, and Bartolozzi (1727-1815) was Italian. Vivares helped introduce the rococo style to England and was a publisher of books as well as an engraver.
