Cased pair of images forming a panorama of Niagara Falls. Each image approximately 9x6.5 cm (3½x2½"), case dimensions overall 12x9x2 cm (4¾x3½x¾"), decoratively embossed covers, with clasp and hook closures.
A rare pair of images, forming a panoramic view of the falls. The photographer unfortunately unidentified. Early view of the falls, first photographed in 1840 by Hugh Pattison and more famously in the 1850s by Platt Babbitt.
Condition
Minor wear to case; images a bit tarnished around the edges, a few small mildew spots; otherwise very good and quite striking.
