Description
Circa 1865 - 1880. 9'5" 3pc/2tip. Two ring standing guides, wrapped black, tips are short 1 3/4 and 4 3/4 inches respectively. The upper grip position of the slide band reel seat indicates this might be a salmon rod. Fittings are drawn nickel silver, the grip being wrapped in black cord reminiscent of the style of William Mitchell, though the fittings belie this origin. All wraps intact. Non-original bag and black anodized tube. From the Thomas C. Kerr collection of Historic 19th century fishing rods.
