A peaceful landscape painting depicting a grassy field with two darkened haystacks - reminiscent of Monet - and towering pines, all beneath a light cyan-hued sky with fluffy white clouds liberally dispersed throughout. Note the artist's keen use of light, contrasting the sunlit meadow with the dark shades of the shadowy wood. All is rendered in loose brushstrokes with areas of light impasto. A beautiful piece fit with a lovely, gilt wood frame with a suspension hook for easy display. Size of painting: 6.5" W x 10.25" H (16.5 cm x 26 cm); of frame: 9.25" W x 13" H (23.5 cm x 33 cm)

Possible indistinct signature at lower left. Fit in a gilt wood frame with cardboard backing. Some surface wear to frame with chipping to cardboard; neither of which affects painting. Bending to cardboard causes painting to be loose in frame. Painting has some light fading to pigments and patina to surface, but overall clear imagery and good condition.
