Description
A lovely old and well handled basket with wooden supports on top and bottom, the top featuring finely carved male and female figures with dowry box in the middle which acts as the handle, the wooden base painted with green accent. The Basket measures 13.25 inches tall. Java, Indonesia, late 19th or early 20th century. Provenance: The Robert and Nancy Nooter collection, Washington DC.
