Item Details
Description
A vintage colored engraving after the respected German apothecary and botanist Basilius Besler (1561–1629). Titled "Sedum Arborescens; Colchicum Mixtum Autumnale; Colchicum Album et Rubrum" ("Canary Islands Arborescent houseleek;" "Multiflorous striped colchicum;" "Colchicum in leaf and flower"), originally published circa 1640. Depicting a trio of colorful botanical elements with Latin legend description along the bottom edge. Vintage gallery label affixed to the back. Presented under glass with a fabric mat border in a decorative antique frame. Sight size measures approximately 18" x 15".

Dimensions: 28 X 23 X .75 in.

Condition: Good to fair overall vintage condition having average surface wear and age toning. Frame has moderate storage wear and losses to edges and corners. Estate fresh to the market.
