A NABESHIMA-STYLE POLYCHROME SAUCER DISH
Probably late Edo period (1615-1868), 19th century
Painted with peony blossoms and foliage afloat on seigaiha (stylised waves), in underglaze blue, iron-red, green and ochre enamels, the underside painted with three groups of shippo-tsunagi (linked-cash) above a high foot decorated with a combed design. 5.7cm x 21.2cm (2¼in x 8 3/8in).
