Extremely Rare and Original, 1954 Grand Prix Bern Poster and Program. Poster is signed by winning driver Juan Manuel Fangio with bold signature in red ink. Designed by artist Carlo Demand. Poster is very rare, since this was the last car andmotorcycle Grand Prix of Bern in Switzerland. Following the 1955 Le Mans disaster where a crash caused fragments of racing car debris to fly into the crowd and kill 83 spectators, the Swiss government banned all forms of motor racing.Poster is approx. 36" x 50", appears to be linen backed. There are some light creases, and some areas of restoration mainly along the bottom edge thru the "A" in august, and lower right corner, and a few smaller spots. Flaws are only noticeable upon close inspection. Lower right corner is marked "Polygraphische Gesellschaft Laupen-Bern".
