Description
An ancient Olmec mask from Pre Columbian America made of green jade. The male mask has harshly carved facial features with narrow eyes, a thin long nose, and full lips. Round holes are drilled on the sides of the face, characteristic of the Olmec civilization. Comes with a heavy stand. The Olmecs flourished during Mesoamericas formative period, dating roughly from as early as 1500 BCE to about 400 BCE. They were the first Mesoamerican civilization, and laid many of the foundations for the civilizations that followed. South American Historical Collectibles, Home Decor.
