Signed photograph

A signed and inscribed portrait by President William H. Taft. Photo measuring 6.75" x 9.75", Washington, D.C., dated January 13, 1910. A portrait of Taft reading a book, signed and inscribed below the image "For Miss Elise Agnus with the compliments and best wishes of a grateful friend of her father." Also dated by Taft on the mat. Photograph copyright Harris & Ewing 1908. The photograph has been mounted to a mat to the overall size of 7.5" x 11". Toning and wear to the mat. Some silvering at the edges. Boldly signed.

Elise was the daughter of General Felix Agnus (1839-1925), who was a soldier in the Franco-Austrian War and the American Civil War.
