Property owned by the Potomac steamboat company. This item is exceptionally rare, originating from Washington, D.C., and was presented as evidence in a Supreme Court case. Dating back to approximately 1879-1899, it was among the maps displayed in the case of MORRIS v. UNITED STATES. This legal dispute concerned property rights claimed by numerous landowners, focusing on reclaimed land and dredging activities along the Potomac River. The disputed area encompassed 600 acres west of the Washington Monument, which included significant landmarks such as the Lincoln Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, and Potomac Park.
