ASIAN: Two Surimono prints featuring mythical creatures, the first by Totoya Hokkei (Japanese, 1780-1850) "Dragon in the Clouds" woodblock print, a dragon weaves through clouds, black background, faded script above, artist seal lower left, ss: 8" h. x 7 1/2" w.; along with a print or drawing by unkown artist, featuring a Kirin (Japanese unicorn) and script above, seals lower right, in floating mount, framed behind glass, ss: 8 1/4" h. x 7 3/4" w. both with wear consistent with age, neither examined out of frame. (Note: Hokkei is one of Hokusai's most successful and prolific pupils in the genre of surimono and book illustration)
