Technique: CDV on Albumen paper, mounted on Cardboard
Date: 1888
Description: According to the dedication on the reverse, the person portrayed is C. Müller, who passed on his Carte de Visite to Ferdinand Blum. The photograph comes from the business card collection of Ferdinand Blum (1865 - 1959), who was director of the Biological Institute in Frankfurt am Main. He researched physiology and endocrinology, especially of the adrenal glands, the pancreas and the thyroid gland. He discovered the blood sugar-increasing effect of adrenalin. In 1939 he fled to Switzerland.

Good condition. The cardboard is stained in places at the edges. The portrait is slightly faded.
