Description
English royal crest. Exquisitely inlaid gold and silver on iron, 19th century neo-romantic plate. Most likely from Zuloaga workshops.
Attributed to the work of the Zuloaga family, who brought the art of damascening back into the forefront of fine metalworking during the mid 19th century, and were frequently commissioned by noble and royal houses throughout Europe. No clearly extant marks survive, but a pair of faint numbers or letters can be found underlined on the bottom center of the plate.
