Description
D-009 German WWII SS EM dagger. Aluminum eagle/swastika in the black wood grip. The roundel appears to be an early replacement. Crossguards show a patina and some light wear. The clean blade shows some areas of the original polish, however appears to have been buffed some time ago. Motto "Meine Ehre Heisst Treue" is still sharp. Unusual rare maker "HERMANN HAHN - SOL. WALD" and "HH" logo. 90% black finish on the obverse of the scabbard. Reverse shows some scattered light "chips" and minute pitting. Back of throat is scratched with the name "H. Bader", and the remaining wording in Sutterlin script is difficult to read. Tip has a minute dent in the bottom of the ball (with an old letter/receipt from a respected national dealer who originally sold this dagger. Also with 4 Xerox pages of the file records of Hans Helmuth Bader - which included his ID number, pre-war awards, previous SA membership, etc.) II
