Important Chinese Ducai Porcelain Covered Bowl, Yongzheng (1723-35) Mark and Period 5.25''x8''. An example of this bowl is documented and published in the book, ''The Later Ceramics Wares of China'' 1925 by R.L. Hobson on page 69 Fig.I, plate 55. Old paper label inside lid references the published bowl. Blue underglaze bird and blossoming peony and prunus branches with red and green transparent enamel decoration. It bears a six character and double ring blue underglaze Yongzheng dynasty mark. The base of the bowl has a 3.25''x2.75'' old crack professional repair and also a 1.75'' hairline crack in exterior. Also a .5" old professional chip repair to top edge of base within the decoration. A fine, estate fresh example. Provenance: from the personal collection of a Hollywood producer, Beverly Hills.
