Description
Qian Weicheng, Landscape, Hanging scoll. Qian Weicheng (1720-1772) was an official and painter of the Qing Dynasty. His first name was Xin Lai, his courtesy name was Zongpan, his first name was You'an, his nicknames were Ren'an and Chashan, and his later nickname was Jiaxuan. He was a native of Wujin, Jiangsu Province. In the tenth year of Qianlong's reign, he became the number one scholar, promoted to Minister of Justice, and was given the posthumous title Wenmin. Su Shi, a calligrapher, first learned the freehand brushwork of folding flowers and fruits from Chen Shu, and later studied landscape painting. Under the guidance of Dong Bangda, he became a famous artist, worshiped in the imperial court, and became the leader of the painting garden. He once went hunting with Emperor Qianlong in the Mulan Paddock. The emperor killed the tiger with a sharp spear and ordered Weicheng to draw and carve stone records. He is the author of "Chashan Collection".
