About the artist: Painter, graphic artist, monumentalist.
Born on February 2, 1923 in the village of Konstantinovka, Donetsk Region. In 1937 he entered the Lugansk Art College. From 1943 until the end of World War II he was at the front. He was awarded the Order of the Red Star in 1945, the Order of the Patriotic War of the first degree (1985), and medals. After demobilization in 1947 he returned to Lugansk and completed his studies at the picturesque department of the art school. From 1949 to 1955 he studied at the Kiev Art Institute, specializing in poster art. His teachers were V. Kasiyan, I. Pleschinsky, N. Khmelko.
The creative heritage of Ivan Dziuban includes both poster works of the Soviet period, in which he implemented both poster artists and paintings, the writing of which was inspired by numerous trips with a sketchbook behind his back throughout the Soviet Union. The artist left a large number of sketches that never became finished canvases.
Since 1974 - Honored Artist of Ukraine, member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine. Pictures of I. Dziuban were shown at numerous all-Union, republican and international exhibitions, including the XXX Biennale in Venice in 1960. Today, the artist's works are presented in museums and private collections.
