There is no indication of the children of this marriage adopting the family name DENNISTO(U)N. We also note that a James DENNISTOUN (1803-1855), of Glasgow and founder of the Glasgow suburb of Dennistoun, was associated with the gentleman's club: The Bannatyne Club, before its formation in 1823 and afterwards as a member. The club is significant in the study of Scottish literature. Another member was a member of the MUIRHEAD family.
