A MID 19TH CENTURY STERLING SILVER HORSE RACING TROPHY CUP AND COVER, C. 1846
early Victorian, in the mid 18th century style of equestrian theme, the domed cover surmounted by a finial of a horse in the full round, with floral and scroll edged rim, the body of the urn with scrolling naturalistic handles modelled as bell flowers, the front with a cartouche depicting a jockey on horseback, the reverse with an engraved stag beside a tree, on a ringed spreading socle base and circular foot chased with flowers and foliage, the interior silver gilt, hallmarked London, 1846, maker's mark for John Samuel Hunt, 2620 grams (84.2 oz. troy) in weight,
