All by Washington McDonough Root (1823-84) of Pittsfield MA, fourteen pieces, comprising: Two matching 9” fiddle back serving spoons with “W.M.Root” and eagle mark engraved “Julliette Wing”, seven 6” spoons that are also engaved for “Julliette Wing” that have the same markings as the serving spoons, two 6” fiddle back spoons with “W.M.Root” and star mark, a 5 3/4” fiddle back gravy ladle with “W.M.Root” “P” and eagle mark, a 6” fiddle back sugar shell with shell form bowl “W.M.Root” ‘P” and eagle mark, and a 6 3/4” fiddle back sugar shell with “W.M.Root and Brother” eagle and “P” mark.
Dimensions: The total approximate weight is 10.58 troy ounces.
Provenance: Property from the Collection of C. Thomas Attix Jr., East Windsor, New Jersey.
Condition
Overall good condition, as pictured, three of the 6” spoons have various dings and bends to the bowls, other expected signs of wear from use.
