Lost wax cast brass. Early 20th century - circa 1920 - 1940. Benin, Africa.
This sculpture is more detailed than usually seen in similar examples with the bodies of both the Lion and Goat heavily chased with engraved decoration. The figure is lively and expressive in face and body.
The figure has developed a rich patina over the past 80 - 100 years.
