Description
A classic old Hopi Kachina, depicting Hano Mani (Long-Haired Kachina Maiden) or Hahai-I Wu-Uti (Kachina Mother). Late 19th or early 20th century.
Carved wood and painted pigments. The mother wearing traditional clothing, slightly hunched, hand together in front of her and with detailed renditions of the facial features and ceremonial face paint.
HEIGHT: 11 1/16" (28 cm)

Condition
Some splits to the wood. Wear to the pigments and surfaces. Loss to back of the left foot. Old repairs to the feet and an old repairs to head and back (filled with wool remnants). Old wear from long use (see photos).
