Description
This hand-drawn map, originating from Washington, D.C., is exceptionally rare and was part of an exhibit for a Supreme Court case known as MORRIS v. UNITED STATES, occurring between 1879 and 1899. The case involved property rights claims by numerous landowners related to reclaimed land and dredging adjacent to the Potomac River, covering an area of 600 acres west of the Washington Monument, which included landmarks such as the Lincoln Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, and Potomac Park. Despite the landowners' claims, the Supreme Court ruled against them in 1899. This artifact is in overall very good condition, measuring 7 1/4? x 8 1/2?, and comes with guaranteed authenticity.
