A set of Chinese officer's clothing
late 19th century
Comprising a red-fringed, triangular hat; several colored finials; a blue-ground robe; a pair of simple black-ground shoes; and a goldwork 'dragon' motif collar. Sold with original fitted chest and wooden box for finials. (7).
H: 55 3/8, W: 84 1/8 in. (H: 140.65, W: 214 cm. (largest))
Provenance: From Mr. Lo, Honolulu, Hawai'i. A family inheritance. His grandfather, Chang Lo (1884-1995), was born in Honolulu and was a scholar, diplomat, and legal expert. Lot 839 to 843 are from the same collector.

All textiles with minor age wear, overall good condition; box with chipping, lacquer loss, cracking, and use wear throughout. Box dimensions: H: 16, W: 23 1/4, D: 15 1/8 in. (H: 40.64, W: 59.06, D: 38.42 cm.)
