When you are ready to sell, we will be ready to go to work for you. Here is a summary of what you can expect after you call: * If practical, we will visit you and quickly appraise your collection and give you an idea of what it should bring at auction. Any questions you have will be addressed to help you understand the process and make you comfortable that your objectives are met. If you do not live in our local area, the above process can be handled by mail and telephone. * If you are interested in consigning, we will complete a consignment agreement that indicates the auction date, your costs, and any other terms we agree upon. You will sign the agreement and will be given a copy of all the paperwork. * Typically, we will pick up your consignments at this visit. Rest assured that we have insurance for all consignments of any size. Also, consignments are kept in safe deposit for extra security. * We will expertly photograph your coins, write excellent descriptions, and build a quality catalog that our bidders know will accurately represent the coins they will be bidding on. * We have an extensive mailing list and will ensure that our large customer base is made aware of the upcoming auction a minimum of three times. For large sales, we also advertise in national periodicals like Coin World and Numismatic News. * On the day of the auction, we will ensure comfortable surroundings for the bidders and we will have all of our systems in place for a successful auction. All bidders will be registered with a unique number. Floor bidders be given an auction catalogue and several hours opportunity for personal inspection of the lots. Our auctions are either audio or video recorded to ensure that if there are any disputes, they are addressed quickly. * Once the gavel falls and the high bid is accepted, the auction is over. Our trained clerks collect payments and they are deposited into an escrow account. An audit is conducted to confirm all the numbers, and the net proceeds of the sale are distributed to the seller within thirty days of the auction.
