Description
(1847-1931). American inventor and entrepreneur, patenting over 1,000 inventions during his lifetime, including the light bulb, phonograph and moving pictures. He played a critical role in introducing the modern age of electricity. Lengthy ANS "Edison," 2pp on separate leafs, 5"x7¾", [n.p., n.d.]. On his customary lightly lined paper to [laboratory assistant L.A.] "Moore" in very dark pencil regarding production recordings. In part: "Dalley using same mould - got a Runout on a record from this mould, He then had printed 6 from this mould from blanks varnished in factory...He then varnished 6 more with 3 coats. These were rated 4 good 2 fair to good...It would seem from this Runouts are not in the mould and not in the Blank But in the rotten varnishing..." Moderate even toning, a bit darker at edges; two edge nicks with small paper loss; staple puncture at top left margin; else VG.
