19th Century (1800's) Russian Ceremonial Belt .84 solid coin silver with gold wash. This is a very highly detailed quality hand crafted belt made in the early to mid 19th century. This belt would have been used during the best of ceremonies, such as Weddings, among the noble and royal. Contains the .84 Russian Purity Assay Hallmark on both pieces of the belt. The center of the belt plate has a cherubs face above a double headed eagle is clutching a scepter and sword in it's claws. This image looks much like the Russian Imperial coat of arms. There are raised floral reliefs. Hand hammered copper belt loop brackets to the back side. .84 Silver weight 461 grams, 16.30 ounces. Width 10 3/4 inches x height 4 inches. The belt perfectly locks together.
Condition
Good detail with slight wear from age and use. Two copper bar brackets on back missing on one side but does not affect the display..
